Through a series
of community meetings

Families and community stakeholders identified early math as being a priority for their community. So, for the first set of Playful Learning installations in Chicago, we focused on building early math skills that are crucial to young children’s learning.

Fun Fact:

Children’s knowledge of mathematics in pre-k is a strong predictor of later achievement. Mathematic concepts you will see highlighted in each of the below installations include:

  • Number sense
  • Representation
  • Shapes and spatial relationships
  • Measurement
  • Patterns
